Films that have catchy lines that seem to stay with me will be shared with you here.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

Recently, I along with a friend went to the Film Forum to see Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell star in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. Although I’ve seen Marilyn and Jane in various films, on the big screen, they were absolutely charming and hysterical.

Ironically, this morning I woke up and while eating my breakfast, watched it again on The Movie Channel. Here’s a clip of the opening number and one of my favorite parts of the movie.

Reminiscing an Old Favorite

In honor of the fact that we’re now into the month of October, the weather is beginning to change here in New York City and typically this is when I screen movies back-to-back. Here is a clip from an oldie but goodie. Just recently I had a mother/daughter day with my mom where we popped a big bowl of popcorn, had a huge glass of raspberry lemonade and watched scary movies. Our favorite; Scream.

Check out the clip and tell me if this creeps you out! 🙂

Quote of The Day-Martin Lawrence

Check out this clip from Martin Lawrence’s stand up, Runteldat. I’ve been a fan of Martin’s since back in the old days of his show, Martin (Shanae Na!) . Anyway, in this clip, Martin references the television show, Cops, and jokes about the various reactions between people of different ethnicities when questioned by law enforcement. Not only have I as well seen this type of behavior on Cops but also within Staten Island. Rather than spout about, Martin makes his point in a comedic manner, but is dead on point. Enjoy a giggle. 🙂

Quote of The Day- Morgan Spurlock

Hey Everyone! So I recently saw for the first time Super Size Me (yes, I know I’m late on that one)…and I don’t think I can ever look at Mc.Donald’s the same again. I’ll eat at Burger King from now on. Hahaha. Anyways, the entire film was like, hard-core on the eyes. Here’s one of the lines that I found hilarious, maybe even provoke you to see it:

[while consuming a double quarter-pounder supersized meal

See, now’s the time of the meal when you start getting the McStomach ache. You start getting the McTummy. You get the McGurgles in there. You get the McBrick, then you get the McStomach ache. Right now I’ve got some McGas that’s rockin’. My arms… I feel like I’ve got some McSweats goin’. My arms got the McTwitches going in here from all the sugar that’s going in my body right now. I’m feeling a little McCrazy.”

Quote Of The Day- Alfred Hitchcock

My dearest Alfie, one of my favorite directors of all time. Let me reminisce for a minute. I remember back in the day when good ol’ Alfie used to come on Nick At Night, sometime around 10pm, and really, I should have been asleep in bed. Instead, I was up, sneaking in my room, the volume low as I watched the notorious introduction to Alfred Hitchcock’s music score of his mystery series. Loved it! So here goes a favorite quote of mine from Mr. Hitchcock.

Drama is life with the dull bits cut out“.  <<<<< (so true!)

He had a weird sense of humor but I find it heartbreakingly true at times. Check out this clip of “how to cure insomnia”…this is a little morbid, but that was Alfie.

Quote of The Day- Rebecca Bloomwood

So I was consoling one of my friends who had recently broken up with her boy-friend and it was an awkward moment because I had always known it wasnt going to work out. I said all of the traditional things a friend should say and then my mind went blank. Shoot! Rather than do the usual “uh huh” to her tantrums, I remembered the wonderful words of Rebecca Bloomwood in Confessions of A Shopaholic – so i quoted to my friend.  “A man will never love you or treat you as well as a store. If a man doesn’t fit, you can’t exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater. And a store always smells good. A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed. And when your fingers first grasp those shiny new bags…oh yes…oh yes“!  So we giggled like two school girls and the next day we went shopping.
